Outdoor Learning

At Firle Church of England Primary School we are lucky enough to have access to local woodland which we use regularly for Forest School and to support learning within the curriculum. Possibilities for outdoor learning are considered throughout our planning so that children are given opportunities to use our outdoor environment as a context for learning throughout the year.

We believe that all children in the school should have regular, long-term access to the outdoor environment which provides them with inspirational and challenging learning opportunities. The outdoor environment, offers a wealth of experiences that aim to develop the child’s self esteem, emotional intelligence, confidence, communication skills, curiosity, knowledge of the natural environment and ability to assess risk.
